Boston Redevelopment Authority approves multiple projects and developments
The Boston Redevelopment Authority worked at a feverish pace at its meeting, last night, approving many commercial and residential real estate projects.
The projects include a 408-unit hotel in the South End, a 22-story office tower near Bay Village, an affordable housing apartment complex near Dudley Square, and a 21-story office, residential, and retail development to be located in the Seaport District.
Third W Hotel & Residences facing financial trouble
In a sign of the times, a third W Hotel & Residences is in trouble.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that the W Atlanta-Downtown condo and hotel mixed-use development is facing foreclosure. The W Boston Hotel & Residences filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April 2010 but the hotel remains open and sales have continued of the 122-unit condominiums, located above.
45 Province has first closing in months, now 12 percent sold
Showing renewed strength, a closing was recorded last week at the recently-completed 45 Province luxury condominium project, in the Downtown Crossing neighborhood of Boston.
An eleventh-floor, one-bedroom, one-bathroom, 691+/- square foot condo sold on April 28 for $419,040.
Boston and Arizona W Hotel and Residences both in trouble
The W Hotel & Residences, Boston, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, today. It joins the W Hotel & Residences, Scottsdale as a second W Hotel to get into financial difficulty. Although the hotels will continue to operate and condos will remain on the market, the similarities are stark.
